Privacy Policy.

The short version

The contact form on this site does not send your information to a server or a database. It opens your own email application with a message pre-filled, addressed to Oliver directly — you choose whether to actually send it. This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful, but it sets no analytics cookies unless you accept them in the banner. It runs no advertising trackers at all.

1. Information you provide

If you use the contact form on the Book Oliver page, you may enter your name, email address, phone number, organization, role, and details about your inquiry. That information is used only to build a pre-filled email in your own email application — it is never transmitted to this website, a server, or a third-party service in the process. Submitting the form is the same as writing Oliver an email yourself; nothing is stored by the website at any point.

If you email Oliver directly — whether through a mailto link on this site or by writing to Oliver@theasdcompany.com — that message and any information in it are received and handled the same way as any other business email: used to respond to you, and retained or deleted at Oliver’s ordinary discretion. It is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

2. Information collected automatically

Hosting. Our hosting provider (Vercel) may log standard technical information — such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps — for security, abuse prevention, and performance purposes. This is baseline web server behavior that happens whenever any website is requested, not something specific to this site, and it isn’t used to build a profile of you.

Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit and which pages they find useful. It runs under Google Consent Mode with all storage denied by default, which means that until you choose “Accept” in the consent banner, no analytics cookie is written and no identifier is stored on your device. If you accept, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (_ga and a related per-property cookie) and records information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from a truncated IP address, referring site, device type, and browser. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses.

This site never enables Google’s advertising features. Advertising storage, ad personalization, and ad user data remain denied whatever you choose, so your visit is not used to build an advertising profile or to retarget you elsewhere.

3. Cookies

The only cookies this site can set are the Google Analytics cookies described above, and only if you accept them. Decline, or simply ignore the banner, and none are set. Your choice itself is remembered in your browser’s local storage (not a cookie) so you aren’t asked on every page; clearing your browser storage for this site will make the banner reappear.

There are no advertising, social, or cross-site tracking cookies on this site.

4. How information is used

• To respond to speaking, advisory, real estate, press, and other inquiries.
• To keep basic records of business correspondence, in the same way any inbox does.
• To operate and secure the website itself (see automatic collection, above).
• To measure, in aggregate, which pages and topics are useful — so the site can be improved — if you accepted analytics.

Information is not used for advertising, is not sold, and is not shared with data brokers.

5. Third parties

This site is hosted on Vercel. Fonts are served locally through Next.js rather than loaded from a third-party font network.

If you accept analytics, Google LLC processes the analytics data described in section 2 as part of providing Google Analytics. That processing is governed by Google’s own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. Google also offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics on every site at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

The site links out to third-party platforms — LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Mashable, and others — for reference and social profiles; once you follow one of those links, that platform’s own privacy policy applies, not this one.

6. Your choices

Because the contact form doesn’t transmit anything until you personally send the resulting email, you can close the tab at any point beforehand and nothing is retained. For anything you do send directly to Oliver@theasdcompany.com, you can ask at any time what’s on file and request it be deleted — email the same address and ask.

For analytics, declining in the banner is the default state — you don’t have to do anything to avoid being measured. To change a choice you already made, clear this site’s browser storage and the banner will reappear. Browser “do not track” settings, content blockers, and Google’s opt-out add-on all work here too.

7. California privacy rights

This site does not sell personal information, and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising — Google’s advertising features are never enabled here, as described in section 2. California residents may ask what personal information is held about them, request that it be corrected or deleted, and will not be treated differently for asking. To make a request, email Oliver@theasdcompany.com.

8. Children’s privacy

This site is a professional and speaking-business site, not directed at children, and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

If what this site does with information changes — for example by adding a server-side form handler, a CRM, or a second measurement tool — this page will be updated and the “last updated” date above will change accordingly.
